I would want to start off with a small suggestion to Selvaraghavan - He can actually go about registering his brand of stories! Mayakkam Enna is yet another page from Selvaraghavan's "Kadhal kadhaikkal notebook".
To every citizen in this state cinema is not just motion picture, we take movies seriously. It is not just a pass time.Well, criticism plays a vital role in taking our movies to the next level. Reviewers have always played an important role in deciding a movie's fate in the silver screen. Be it Vikatan or Hindu the first thing that we do after coffee on Friday morning is read the week's movie reviews! Here is a sincere attempt to review new movies and bring back to life the old ones!!

The lookout for an entirely new plot in story making forum of tamizh cinema takes a new turn with 7m arivu’s arrival!!! Seems more stress and care was taken in script as they stepped back in film making. Story about the not so known glory of Bodhi dharman and mix up of sci-fi stuff makes it an interesting plot. Deserving a bouquet, the director shines for such a script.
Every actor achieves a milestone in his 50th and 100th films and so on. But then, if there could be someone who has got a gifted opening and even after a series of disappointments can make a huge impact and could bounce back with a bang, it is none other than the “ULTIMATE STAR”.
It is not often that a film comes along that highlights a range of social issues relevant today and still manages to include time-tested commercial elements to keep everyone happy.KO manages to do just that.Barring a few instances lacking logic, the film manages to keep the audience hooked and how!The film begins with Ashwin(Jeeva), who is a photo journalist working in a tamil daily, happening to chance upon a bank robbery, gives chase and helps the cops nab the culprits. What follows is the daily's coverage of elections in the state which is so much reflective of the recent elections in our state, interspersed with the love triangle between coworkers in the newspaper. With such brutal honesty in portraying the elections as it happens today, one really begins to wonder if the film was deliberately delayed in its release.
The film has enough twists to keep us in the edge of our seats and the director should be lauded for his screenplay. The unexpected twist in the end makes it a worthwhile story. The social responsibility(or irresponsibility) of the media personnel and the politicians' hypocrisy are well emphasised in the sequences.Kudos to the director for handling it with such honesty. With no separate comedy track, the film has just the right amount of humor without going overboard. The hero runs around shooting pictures from impossible positions and not giving a damn, typical of a journalist. And he has a knack of appearing in the right place at the right time! Now come the no brainers. How does the director expect us to believe that someone can win a clear majority the first time they contest? As if that was not enough we have our hero escaping from two bomb blasts without any serious injuries! The songs(Harris Jeyaraj) fail to make an impact except for Ennamo Edho which is humworthy. The two songs in the second half are ill placed and really hampers the speed fo the movie. The length of the movie(a tad too long) would have been just right if the songs had been done away with!On a scale of 10, the movie would just cross the 7 mark!
A movie worth watching indeed!
